Eco-Drive: From impressive steel watches to elegant ladies' watches – eight new model series

At CITIZEN, Eco-Drive has stood for light-powered watches for decades. Thanks to its in-house know-how and its own production facilities, the Japanese watch brand is now able to install solar cells invisibly – for example, under the dials. CITIZEN applies this expertise to its collections and numerous variations – from sporty chronographs to delicate, elegant ladies' watches. This year starts with a total of eight new model series: Three new three-hand lines, three chronograph series and two ladies' lines. 

CITIZEN Eco-Drive – Stylish steel watches in unisex sizes (BM762)

These three steel models feature an angular case, a comfortable unisex size of 38 millimetres and three dial colours. The two versions in blue and green are finished in classic stainless steel. The third version with a grey dial has a stealth look – the case and strap are coated in grey. All three models are equipped with a proprietary solar-powered Eco-Drive movement (calibre E111) with date display and are water-resistant up to 10 bar. 

Dress Watches: Elegance Classic Day-Date (AW015)

Classic, elegant and with an unusual day-date display at the 6 o'clock (date) and 12 o'clock (day of the week) positions. These dress watches have a diameter of 40.5 mm and are available in four versions. Two of them are available with green and black dials on stainless steel straps. Both versions have a leather strap with a blue and light-coloured dial – the light-coloured version also has a gold-plated case. All models are equipped with the in-house Eco-Drive movement J800 and are water-resistant up to 10 bar.

Eco-Drive - Marine Sports (AW188)

Unmistakable: three watches for active and sporting use, where things can get wet. These three diver-style watches are water-resistant up to 10 bar, have a diameter of 43 mm and feature a textured dial in black, blue and green. The black version also has a black urethane strap, while the other two versions are equipped with a stainless steel strap. Inside, the Eco-Driver calibre J810 with date drives the watch. 

Eco-Drive - Pilot Chrono (CA472)

Four new pilot's chronographs with a diameter of 42 millimetres on leather and steel straps. All models have a steel casing. Only the version with a silver dial has a rose gold coating.  The tried-and-tested Eco-Drive calibre B620 is used here, with totalisers at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions. It is water-resistant up to 10 bar

Eco-Drive - Vintage Racing Chronographs (CA471)

Distinctive feature: the tachymeter bezel. These three new chronographs with a diameter of 39.9 millimetres are inspired by motor racing of days gone by. The dials are designed for optimum readability in contrasting black and white colours – also known as panda and reverse panda dials. Inside, the proven Eco-Drive calibre B620 beats with date and totalisers at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions. Water resistance is 10 bar.

Eco-Drive - Sports Chronographs

For an active lifestyle: these sports chronographs with a diameter of 43 millimetres are ideal for outdoor use. Inside, the Eco-Drive calibre H500 ticks away, with a date display and totalisers at the 2, 6 and 10 o'clock positions. The watch is water-resistant to 10 bar.

Eco-Drive for women – Trendy Colours (FE612)

Trendy Colours: This new ladies' collection comes in five different versions – in stainless steel and gold look. In addition to classic white and rich green, the dial colours also include the trendy colours light blue and pink. These elegant ladies' watches have a diameter of 33.5 millimetres and a height of around eight millimetres. They are water-resistant to 5 bar.

Eco-Drive for women - Casual Dress (EM122)

Two dress watches for women – but not too formal thanks to the delicate Milanese strap. These two models come in silver and gold versions – each with a white dial and gemstones at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions. The diameter of both casual dress watches for women is 34 millimetres – the height is a slim 7.33 millimetres. Inside, the Eco-Drive E031 movement keeps time.
